OUR STORY

Buzz Dragon is a welcoming dragon boat team with over 70 dedicated paddlers, united by a passion for competition, culture, and community. Our men's, women's, and mixed crews regularly participate in races at the club, local, and international levels.

As one of the oldest dragon boat team’s in Hong Kong, Buzz Dragon has a strong connection to the city’s dragon boat culture; we actively take part in fisherman races and cultural events that celebrate our heritage.

Founded in 2001 by a group of 10 paddlers from the Canadian Dragon Boat Club, we honor the memory of Scott Buzby, a valued teammate who passed away in October 2000. His legacy inspires our commitment and camaraderie as we continue to grow.

Our diverse membership includes paddlers from around the world—Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, the UK, and the USA. Together, we share a blend of positivity, competitiveness, and a love for the outdoors. Join us as we enjoy the sport, build lasting friendships, and immerse ourselves in the rich culture of Hong Kong, both on and off the water!
