Ellie

Hi I’m Ellie, originally from the UK, I came to Hong Kong looking for a warmer, sunnier climate.

I was first introduced to dragon boats during the Tuen Ng festival my first year here. I went down to Stanley with some friends to see the dragon boats and quickly realised that standing on the sidelines was not particularly fun, I needed to be in the dragon boat. That same year I joined Buzz, trained hard, and when the Tuen Ng festival came around again, I was paddling, not spectating.

Since joining Buzz, I have paddled with the team in Hong Kong and overseas in Taiwan. I also qualified for the British team in 2019 and 2021, paddling for Britain during the World Dragon Boat Championships in Thailand.
