We've had a busy time of things lately, so let's celebrate our last two races before internationals start tomorrow.

Chai Wan

On 14th June we rocked up to Chai Wan to race yet again on familiar ground. This year we entered a Buzz mixed boat, and an open division boat racing for our good sponsors Hong Kong Beer.

First off, thank you so much Carson Wong for your awesome artistry in designing our Buzz racing jersey this year, and also the HK Beer jersey we raced at Chai Wan!

It proved to be a very competitive event, but when push came to shove, both our teams pushed hard and made it to the top final in their respective divisions. That's a great result that we can all be proud of.

The mixed boat had the 5th best time of the day among almost 40 teams, out pacing VRC, Seagods, and Royal X to get that spot in the final. The HK Beer boat looked great out on the water and their heats were some of the closest of the day. They also pushed through to the top final. Well done everyone! And well done Tommy and Bijeta, the MVPs of the day!

Tuen Ng - Aberdeen

Then on 19th June for Tuen Ng we went to our own training grounds at Aberdeen, entering one mixed and one open boat. As always we were grateful to be hosted by our good friends Shum Wo, who ferried us to and from the promenade and fed us lunch.

We know this race is cutthroat, and this year was no exception - the first heat determines what final you're in, and who races in each heat is a random draw. The luck gods weren't on our side this year, and we ended up in the bronze final for the mixed. We won that one by about 6 boat lengths I think, and honestly I think we would have won the silver final too. But these things happen - as long as you're having fun in the process!

The open boat did well, coming 2nd in their bronze final. Regardless of final results, both the mixed and open boats can be proud of their efforts, and it's always a privilege to be a part of Tuen Ng at Aberdeen with our friends.

Speaking of friends, Shum Wo treated us to an awesome dinner after the race - always great to wind down after a day of racing with friends.
