TWIB W/C 17th June

Updated: Jun 18, 2019

Buzz,

That about summed up my feelings when internationals got cancelled… I was really looking forward to internationals this year, as I’m sure many of the team were – we had almost the entire team signed up to race!

But having seen the goings on over the past week and Sunday, the organisers really did have no choice but to cancel. And a hell of a lot of people would argue that Hong Kong currently has too much on its collective mind to fit in a major sporting event.

Instead, we fit in a training session on Saturday, had a great BBQ, and even managed to get the rookies through their graduation games on the beach at DWB. Well done rookies, you’re rookies no more! Thanks heaps to everyone that pitched in to help on the day 😊

TUEN NG RESULTS

Tuen Ng is the oldest dragon boat festival in the world and we spent it in the birth place of dragon boat in Hong Kong. And we won it! The full ambience of the event is something that, if you could bottle it up and sell it, would be priceless.

And to finish it all off a fishy dinner and drinking games with Shum Woo and Golden Dragon. I have to admit we got shown up on the 6 vs. 6 downing sessions. But Dana is the clear champion in card board box pick up!

Guys, I can't tell you how proud I am to be a part of this team, to win Aberdeen is a huge achievement for us. Big love to you all for putting in the hard work to make it happen!

DISCO BAY RESULTS

Ladies! Ride high on the weekend at Disco Bay, and what a beautiful day on the beach it was! Proving our strength and dominating the heats to then absolutely smash the final. Other teams sneakily loaded their finals boats, but that did not faze us!

We focused and did what we knew best. Paddle hard, paddle together, paddle efficiently. The strength and spirit you girls show continues to blow my mind and I cannot wait to be busting my butt with you all again next season.

Thank you to the gents that came out to support. Always great to have a cheering squad and for you guys to taste what standing on the sideline feels like 😝

Pops it, Lady Buzz! 💁🏻‍♀🐲💪🏼
